Violence in Aligarh Muslim University; one killed

Aligarh: After the clash between groups of students in Aligarh Muslim University, one person was killed and over a dozen were injured on Sunday, police said. The clash resulted university’s property on fire, which included vehicles and proctor office.

As per reports, a room of a student named Mohsin was set on fire around 2:00 am, when the violence broke out at the Mumtaaz hostel. Mohsin is a resident of room number 12.

Mohsin complained about the clash to the proctor in which he was also beaten up.

University jeep, the proctor office, vice-chancellor lodge and guest house was set on fire before subsequent exchange of fire between rival groups.

Two students were harmed by the bullet injuries out of which one took his last breaths in the hospital.
Campus is deployed with Rapid Action Force (RAF) and extra police force.
