VVIP Chopper deal: Court sends ex-IAF chief to judicial custody till Dec 30th

New Delhi: The former Indian Air Force (IAF) chief, Air Chief Marshal S.P. Tyagi has been send to judicial custody till Dec 30th by a Patiala House Court after he moved plea seeking his bail which was canceled by the court.




He has been recently arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Agusta Westland VVIP chopper deal case; he has moved a bail application that a Patiala House Court listed for December 21st.

A Special (CBI) Judge Arvind Kumar remanded Tyagi to judicial custody along with his cousin Sanjiv Tyagi and Gautam Khaitan both are Delhi-based lawyer by profession.




Tyagi is the first chief of IAF wing of the armed forces to be arrested in the country who was involved in irregularities in Britain-based AgustaWestland for the procurement of 12 AW-101 VVIP helicopters.
