Woman Pilot Pooja Thakur drags IAF to court on denial of permanent commission

New Delhi: Wing Commander in IAF, Pooja Thakur who led the Guard of Honor on US President Barack Obama’s visit has dragged the Indian Air Force (IAF) to the court for denying permanent commission to her.

The woman pilot has been denied permanent commission. Following which, she dragged IAF to the court and thereby termed the decision as ‘discriminatory, biased, arbitrary and unreasonable’.

Pooja was the first female commanding officer to lead the Guard of Honor for US President Barack Obama.

Pooja Thakur was commissioned into the Indian Air Force in 2000.
